Lecturer in Psychopathology at the University of São Paulo, where she began her career in 1975 in the Department of Clinical Psychology, where she remained until 2022. She is currently a Senior Professor, supervising master’s and doctoral students as a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in School Psychology and Human Development. For 17 years, she was a permanent professor working 40 hours per week at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. She taught as a visiting professor at the UFR des Sciences Psychologiques et des Sciences de l’Education at the Université de Paris-X Nanterre in 2001. She holds chair 12 at the São Paulo Academy of Psychology and is a full member of the Winnicott Potential Space at the Sedes Sapientiae Institute.
Two thematic strands can be distinguished in her work, both based on the use of the psychoanalytic method in qualitative research: 1) studies on the mutative potential of differentiated frameworks and 2) research on collective imaginaries, conceived as sets of beliefs, inter- and trans-subjectively produced, through which the structural outlines of colonial capitalist patriarchy, which include the sexual division of labor, are experienced. The first strand is the result of work developed since 1997 in the community service called “Ser e Fazer: Psychotherapeutic Workshops of Creation,” in the Department of Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo, where a clinical style was created that converges the theoretical-methodological perspective of concrete psychoanalytic psychology, inaugurated by José Bleger, and a critical reading of Winnicottian thought, which purifies it of conservatism, allowing for better use of some relevant and enlightening ideas. This same clinical style also contains an innovative proposal for the evaluation of psychological interventions, the Ambrósio and Vaisberg Procedure. The second strand was initially developed at PUC-Campinas, but was vigorously resumed after the professor joined the Graduate Program in School Psychology and Human Development, allowing for the consideration of social suffering in general and, especially, that linked to the sexual division of labor.
