This happens via pioneering subjectivation methods which are more aligned with their singular gesture.

It is considered that the challenges found on the clinical practice at the present time are related to the changes that have taken place on the last decades regarding the ways of exercising power which configure a society of control, one in which a rise in pathologies of difficult approach can be observed, namely the act pathologies – compulsions and depressions – and psychosomatic disorders. Thus, through the support of the pioneering contributions of Sigmund Freud, Sándor Ferenczi and D. W. Winnicott, the current specificities of the clinical encounter are sought, within the caring ethics which promote an aesthetic device of mutual impact. Such device is made possible through the sensitivity produced amongst the partners in the clinical experience, can effectively generate new ways of subjectivization.

The research “Sublimation and cultural processes”*( Sublimação e processos culturais), which started in February of 2009, aims at broadening certain fields of study that have imposed themselves to us during the long path we have previously been through. Some of these fields are: The relations between the constitution of the superego and the possibility for sublimation; the statute of irony in the process of symbolic mediation (particularly in the treatment of obsessive neurosis); the challenges set by the clinical practice brought about by the issue of late-adolescence.

Academic/Professional Background
Undergraduate Degree in Psychology – Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1988), Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology – Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1992) and Doctoral Degree in Psychoanalytic Theory – Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2002).
