{"id":50572,"date":"2025-04-08T15:29:39","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T18:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/?page_id=50572"},"modified":"2025-04-09T13:21:24","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T16:21:24","slug":"qualifying-exam","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/qualifying-exam\/","title":{"rendered":"Qualifying Exam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 88.9392%;\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 3.42143%;\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 3.78349%;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/exame-de-qualificacao-3\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19624\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/br.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"14\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 3.8559%;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/examen-de-aptitud\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19623\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ip.usp.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/es.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"14\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>TO REGISTER FOR THE QUALIFICATION<\/p>\n<p>The candidate may take the Qualifying Exam after completing the credit units mentioned below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Master&#8217;s degree<\/span>: twenty-four credits in subjects<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Doctorate<\/span> (after obtaining a Master&#8217;s degree): sixteen credits in subjects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deadline for <strong>REGISTRATION<\/strong> for the General Qualifying Exam is indicated in the Student File in the JANUS System and the student must register 05 (days) before this deadline.<br \/>\nTo register for the qualification, please send an e-mail to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cacpsa@usp.br <\/span>from:<br \/>\n<strong>01 (one) pdf<\/strong> version of the project;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/ppg-pst\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/04\/Banca_Qualificacao.doc\">Judging Committee Nomination Form<\/a> , in word:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the first sheet must be filled in and signed by the supervisor;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the second sheet, which lists the members of the board, must be filled in with 6 (six) names (supervisor + 5) who hold at least a doctorate, 3 of whom will be members and 3 of whom will be alternates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You must include your Full Name, Degree, Institution (Department you belong to, Unit and University), Email and Justification;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 1:<\/strong> The board is free, it has no criteria, but the appointment of alternates must be respected, where there must be an association between the effective members appointed, that is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first alternate, who is the advisor&#8217;s alternate, must be a professor in the program.<\/li>\n<li>If two external members are appointed as members, two external members must be appointed as alternates.<\/li>\n<li>If two internal members are appointed as members, two internal members must be appointed as alternates.<\/li>\n<li>If an external member and an internal member are appointed as members, an external member and an internal member must be appointed as alternates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Teachers from other programs, from other Units or from other Universities who teach subjects, who are Co-supervisors or Specific Supervisors in the student&#8217;s Program, are considered Teachers within the student&#8217;s Program.<br \/>\n<strong>OBS.2:<\/strong> If you want to use the Master&#8217;s qualification board for the defense, <strong>you must follow the instructions on the<\/strong> Master&#8217;s <strong>defense board form.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>OBS.3:<\/strong> The USP number will be completed by the department secretary.
