The implementation of LEANPSI at the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo from 2023 onwards has the central objective of contributing to a solid education, based on evidence-based scientific foundations. It also aims to train and qualify psychology students for humanitarian practice, considering the potential and limitations of the tests, techniques, methods and approaches used in psychological assessment.
The activities carried out at LEANPSI are directly linked to scientific and technological development in the field of psychological and neuropsychological assessment, with application in research into neuropsychomotor development disorders, cognitive deficits, personality changes, the impact of neuropsychiatric conditions, and situations of violence and neglect. LEANPSI also responds to social demands for improved practices in diagnosis, interventions and rehabilitation, as well as strengthening the dialog between the University and society, especially at the interface with the justice system.
