The profile of the student we want to train includes three different types of convergent and complementary competences, and only when put together will they fully achieve the objective in this regard: Competence in teaching. Competence in research Competence in extension. With these objectives in mind, we aim to train Masters and PhD students.

Research competence
We want to train researchers who are able to propose consistent research problems, in line with contemporary scientific challenges, articulating theory and method with precision, in order to promote original, solid and relevant research in the area, whose results promote social transformations, such as influencing the development and implementation of Public Policies for Health Promotion, Education, Social Assistance and Human Rights, and which should therefore be widely disseminated with quality, rigor and merit, through bibliographic production and Technological Innovation, generating products for Social Insertion.

We have two axes here:
1. training for research
2. the dissemination of scientific knowledge (in agreement and using current technological means)

Teaching competence
We want to train teachers who are able to perform their formative, academic and social functions with excellence, which means being able to design class programs, courses, disciplines, training at higher education level, in the field of School Psychology and Human Development, which implies planning and using with quality: teaching content, didactics, evaluation systems, teacher-student relationship strategies, pedagogical dynamics, bibliographic organization and organization of innovative resources for teaching, achieving previously presented objectives.

Extension competence
We want to train people who can become multipliers and disseminators of knowledge in the fields of School Psychology and Human Development, effectively inserting themselves into their training and application contexts, in order to expand and consolidate research as a source of social transformation.
The Program’s main focus is collaboration and the development of Public Policies in Education, Health, Social Assistance and Human Rights, as well as effective participation in extension projects, intervention and support services for schools and other institutions that support the learning, development and formation of individuals.

The Training of Masters
On completion of the Master’s degree, we expect graduates to be able to:
Carry out all the stages that make up the planning and execution of scientific research;
Carry out competent bibliographical research, have conceptual and theoretical mastery, appropriation of methodology compatible with their object of study and the development of academic writing; Participate in research groups with a view to setting up collaborative networks between researchers;
Writing a scientific article;
Teaching at higher education level;
Presenting research results at academic and scientific events in the field and related areas;
Produce material to disseminate the research to society.

Training Doctors
Having completed the Doctorate, in addition to the skills developed in the Master’s degree, we expect the graduate to be able to:
Have mastery of the field of study in their research area;
Develop an original contribution to your research topic;
Be able to propose, prepare and conduct research projects with a view to obtaining funding;
Organize and disseminate their production at scientific events and qualified academic publications;
Elaborate Innovation and Knowledge Transfer products, promoting the construction of scientific evidence at the service of the transformation of social inequalities.
