Qualifying Exam

 

TO REGISTER FOR THE QUALIFICATION

The candidate may take the Qualifying Exam after completing the credit units mentioned below:

  • Master’s degree: twenty-four credits in subjects
  • Doctorate (after obtaining a Master’s degree): sixteen credits in subjects

The deadline for REGISTRATION for the General Qualifying Exam is indicated in the Student File in the JANUS System and the student must register 05 (days) before this deadline.
To register for the qualification, please send an e-mail to cacpsa@usp.br from:
01 (one) pdf version of the project;

Judging Committee Nomination Form , in word:

– the first sheet must be filled in and signed by the supervisor;

– the second sheet, which lists the members of the board, must be filled in with 6 (six) names (supervisor + 5) who hold at least a doctorate, 3 of whom will be members and 3 of whom will be alternates.

You must include your Full Name, Degree, Institution (Department you belong to, Unit and University), Email and Justification;

Note 1: The board is free, it has no criteria, but the appointment of alternates must be respected, where there must be an association between the effective members appointed, that is:

  • The first alternate, who is the advisor’s alternate, must be a professor in the program.
  • If two external members are appointed as members, two external members must be appointed as alternates.
  • If two internal members are appointed as members, two internal members must be appointed as alternates.
  • If an external member and an internal member are appointed as members, an external member and an internal member must be appointed as alternates.

Teachers from other programs, from other Units or from other Universities who teach subjects, who are Co-supervisors or Specific Supervisors in the student’s Program, are considered Teachers within the student’s Program.
OBS.2: If you want to use the Master’s qualification board for the defense, you must follow the instructions on the Master’s defense board form.

OBS.3: The USP number will be completed by the department secretary. If the person has never participated in an activity at USP, Cadastro_de_Docente_EGQ and send it to the board.
OBS.4: Qualification must take place 60 (sixty) days after registration.
