GUIDELINES AND COORIENTS

The maximum number of mentors per advisor is 8 (eight). When covering guidelines of an interinstitutional nature (Minter / Dinter and co-tutelage) it may be 10 (ten). Additionally, the advisor may co-orient up to 4 (four) students.

The decision on accrediting / re-accrediting an advisor will be based on his or her scientific performance.

Accreditations may be full or specific. Specific accreditations are to guide a particular student.

Full accreditation of mentors will be valid for three (3) years.

For accreditation or re-accreditation, the applicant must submit a detailed formal request to the Comission, objectively indicating their qualifications to act or continue working with the Program. You must attach the updated Lattes Curriculum or Curriculum Vitae (for foreign applicants with no Lattes Curriculum yet) and the e-mail addresses for ResearchID and ORCID registration.

Full Advisor Accreditation

For full accreditation, the teacher must coordinate or participate in a research project and have published at least six publications, compatible with the research line in which he / she operates, and may be four publications in indexed journals, including at least 3 classified with Qualis. B1 or higher, and two book chapters referred to in the Qualis book (book or book organization) with select editorial committee, for the past 3 years;

Have taught discipline in the Program for one semester;

Be conducting research in one of the Program’s research lines;

For accreditation as a doctoral advisor, the completion of a Master’s degree is also required.

Advisor Recognition

For full recertification, the teacher must meet the same minimum accreditation requirements specified in item X.6 and the following requirements will still be considered:

(1) At least 20% of his scientific, artistic or technological production has been derived from theses and dissertations directed by him.

(2) be guiding at least 2 (two) dissertations or theses;

(3) be teaching at least one (1) postgraduate discipline per year in the Program.

(4) for full accreditation, the teacher must have directed at least one Master dissertation, or PhD thesis, and have at least six publications, compatible with the research line in which he / she operates, which may be four publications in indexed journals, of which at least 3 classified with Qualis B1 or higher, and two book chapters referred to in the Qualis book (book or book organization) with select editorial committee in the last 3 years.
